Afforestation of Village Common Land by Creating Woodlot

Wood lots, is the plantation of forest trees in the mass area with a view to self-help to the village population. These are raised on lands in suitable for cultivation. Every village must have at least 10% of their cultivated area reserved for this purpose. These woodlots are mean to provide small timer. Fuel, Seed, Fruits, Manure leaf etc. These wood lots will be the property of the whole village and they should utilize the benefit for the betterment of the village. The Grampanchayat land, grasslands, community garden, the premises of schools and colleges and the vacant places are used for planting trees as a Woodlot.
