Disease and Pest Management in Carrot

Disease and pests are not very serious problem in carrot cultivation. Common diseases of top of carrots are Alternaria blight, leaf spot and powdery mildew.

Leaf Blight:

Due to leaf blight small dark brown to black spots with yellow edge appear on underneath the leaf and assume brown or purplish colour. Spraying or dusting with sulphur checks the disease.

Powdery Mildew:

Powdery mildew occurs on leaf stem and flowers. Powdery growth is observed underneath the leaf and assume brown or purplish colour. Spraying or dusting with sulphur checks the disease.
