Classification of Social Groups - According to the Nature of the Interaction

In this classification the nature of the interaction or the relationship between the members of the group is taken into consideration. According to this criteria the groups can be classed into

a) Primary Groups and

Like family and friendship the relationship is direct and face to face. Generally such groups are small in size. Their relations are always personal. In secondary groups the relationship is indirect and such groups are bigger in size and they are formal in nature e.g.
