Varieties of Potato Grown in M.S. are – Up – to-date,Kufri chamatkar,Kufri sinduri,Kufri alankar, Kufri chandramukhi,Kufri jyoti,Kufri lavkar, Kufri safed
Up – to – date (Numbari) :
1. It is mid-late variety maturing in 90 to 95 days.
2. The tubers are medium to large in size, oval in shape and light creamy in color.
3. The flesh is white and have good cooking quality.
4. But on prolonged boiling the flesh becomes granular.
5. It is suitable for both kharif and rabi season.
6. The yield is about 150 to 200 qt/ha.
Kufri Sinduri:
1. It is mid-late variety maturing in 90 to 95 days.
2. The tubers are round in shape, medium in size and red lead in color.
3. The flesh is pale yellow, firm and good in taste.
4. The flesh has good consistency after cooking.
5. It is suitable for planting in rabi season.
6. The yield is about 300 to 375 qt/ha.
Kufri Chandramukhi:
1. It is early variety maturing in 75 to 80 days.
2. The tubers are oval in shape and creamy white in color.
3. The flesh is white, and very good in taste.
4. It has good keeping quality.
5. It is suitable for planting in both kharif and rabi seasons.
6. The yield is about 250 to 300 q/ha.
Kufri Lavkar:
1. It is very early variety maturing in about 65 to 70 days.
2. The tubers are round in shape and creamy white in color.
3. The flesh is white and good in taste.
4. It is suitable for planting in both kharif and rabi seasons.
5. The yield is about 250 qt/ha.
